Modern Goddess, Real Life: How Under an Hour of Kundalini Yoga Changed Everything

If you met me on the street, you’d see a normal person living a normal life. I run my businesses, enjoy my days, and navigate the world like anyone else. But behind the scenes, there is a secret weapon that has anchored me for over 20 years: a daily Kundalini Yoga practice that takes less than an hour a day.

Kundalini Yoga for modern life brings movement, breathwork, mantra, and meditation into the day you actually have. It gives you a place to return to yourself while you are still answering emails, caring for your family, and showing up for your purpose. The practice belongs in the middle of your life.

No, you don’t need to live in a cave, wear white robes all day, or isolate yourself from the real world to experience deep spiritual elevation. Kundalini is a practice for the householder: the person balancing work, family, passion, and purpose. It’s a practical yogic technology made for an engaged life. Your responsibilities can become the very place where your awareness grows.

The Power of Under an Hour of Kundalini Yoga

My daily routine isn’t complex, but it is consistent: a short kriya, deliberate breathwork, and a mantra-based meditation. That’s it. In less than 60 minutes a day, this practice has completely transformed the fabric of my existence.

What is a kriya? In Kundalini Yoga, a kriya is a specific sequence of movements, postures, breath, and focused attention, sometimes including mantra and meditation. These elements are practiced together with a particular intention. The Kundalini Research Institute’s guide to Kundalini Yoga explains this approach to practice.

The breath gives your attention somewhere to land. Mantra gives the busy mind a sound to return to. Meditation invites you to sit with yourself long enough to notice what is actually happening inside. Together, they create a daily opportunity to meet yourself honestly.

Business Acceleration

It clears the mental fog, sharpens focus, and builds the resilience required to make big moves. For me, that clarity makes the work feel more fluid. When your attention is scattered, every decision can become a negotiation with your own doubt. Practice creates room to recognize what matters and move forward with intention.

Healing Ancestral Wounds

It broke a deeply embedded lineage pattern. For generations, the women in my family were trapped in cycles of victimization and people-pleasing. Through this practice, my experience of that energy was completely rewired. It simply isn’t there anymore. Those inherited patterns can feel so familiar that we mistake them for who we are. Becoming aware of them opens the possibility of choosing differently.

Radiance & Confidence

In place of people-pleasing stands a woman who knows herself and isn’t afraid to show it. That is what Kundalini Yoga for confidence means to me: feeling at home in my own truth. You can speak clearly, honor your boundaries, and allow yourself to be seen. Our women’s circles at The MataJi Sanctuary offer a space to explore that authenticity in sisterhood.

Sensual Longevity

At 70 years young, I am vibrant, sexy, sensual, and fully embracing my identity as a modern-day goddess, with zero intention of slowing down. This is my lived experience of vitality. There is joy in inhabiting your body, honoring its wisdom, and continuing to discover what lights you up at every age.

Kundalini doesn’t ask you to pretend you’re perfect. It pokes, provokes, confronts your crazy, and shines a spotlight on your neuroses. It challenges you. But meeting those challenges on the mat gives you the grace and courage to handle whatever life throws at you off the mat.

Riding the Waves of Planetary Energy with Emotional Resilience

We are living through an extraordinary time. From my spiritual perspective, the energetic frequency on Earth is shifting dramatically. Celestial changes, cosmic flares, and astrological realignments are part of the language I use to understand this moment. You may feel that intensity as a call to become more grounded and more aware of your own inner world.

Whatever language speaks to you, everyday life asks a great deal of us. News, uncertainty, and other people’s emotions can fill the space where our own intuition once spoke clearly. A regular practice gives us somewhere to pause, listen, and reconnect.

During times like these, we face a choice:

  • Inter-lock with the energy and let these powerful currents carry us upward into our highest potential.
  • Miss the lock and find ourselves pulled into fear, anxiety, and overwhelm.

To lock into this higher frequency, you need the right tools. In the way I teach and experience Kundalini Yoga, two essential tools are the Lens and the Lever.

The Lens is your intuition. It’s your third eye, allowing you to see the unseen and perceive reality beyond standard mental chatter. In everyday life, clearing the lens means taking a breath before reacting and noticing whether a choice comes from fear or from a deeper knowing. You give yourself time to hear the quieter voice within.

The Lever is your prayer and intention. It gives you the leverage to shift what feels immovable and step into your true power. An intention brings your awareness into the next conversation, the next decision, the next moment when an old pattern asks to take over. Your practice begins to travel with you.

Without a clean lens and a strong lever, we can get swept away by blind emotions and emotional commotion. Life gets foggy, fearful, and heavy. Kundalini clears the lens and strengthens the lever, giving us inner clarity and fierce courage.

For me, Kundalini Yoga for emotional resilience means being able to feel deeply and still return to my center. The feelings are allowed to be there. The breath, the mantra, and the intention help me remember that I have a choice in how I meet them.

Kundalini Yoga for Beginners and Every Stage of Life

You don’t need to be naturally flexible, spiritual, or quiet-minded to start. Kundalini Yoga for beginners begins with willingness, curiosity, and guidance. It meets you right where you are. You can arrive with a busy mind and an imperfect day.

How do you begin a daily practice? Learn a suitable short kriya or meditation with a qualified teacher, then choose a regular time you can return to it. Follow the guidance for that practice, including modifications and rest. You can start small; under an hour is my rhythm, not a requirement for yours.

Consistency gives you a chance to notice what changes over time. Perhaps you catch a familiar reaction sooner or feel more present in a conversation. Let your own experience teach you. The Sanctuary FAQ on Kundalini Yoga answers common questions about getting started.

If a normal person like me can use under an hour a day to break generations of painful patterns, build thriving businesses, and feel like a radiant goddess at 70… imagine what you might discover for yourself.
